Job Description

The Junior Quantity Surveyor assists in managing project costs and contractual matters for civil construction projects. The role involves supporting the commercial team in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, preparation of bills, subcontractor evaluation, and monitoring project expenditures to ensure projects are delivered within the approved budget.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying within civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and contract documentation is preferred.

Skills & Competencies
• Good knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with measurement standards and cost control procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and AutoCAD (preferred).
• Knowledge of contract conditions such as FIDIC is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.

Preferred Experience
• Experience in large civil construction projects will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities Duties:

• Assist in quantity take-offs and measurement of works from drawings and site progress.
• Support in preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
• Assist in preparation of interim payment applications and follow up on client certifications.
• Maintain records of site measurements, variations, and change orders.
• Assist in preparing subcontractor payment certificates and verifying invoices.
• Support the commercial team in contract administration and documentation.
• Monitor project costs, materials usage, and labor costs against budget.
• Prepare cost reports and project progress reports for management review.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams for quantity verification and work progress.
• Assist in preparation of variation claims and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, company procedures, and project specifications.
