Procurement Manager
Job Description
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all procurement and supply chain activities for a large-scale water desalination project. The role ensures timely sourcing, cost efficiency, compliance with project specifications, and alignment with company policies and international standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8–12 years of procurement experience, preferably in EPC projects.
• Proven experience in water desalination, power, or large infrastructure projects is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and contract management.
• Experience working in multicultural and international project environments.
Responsibilities Duties:
Working Conditions:
• Site-based role in Azerbaijan
• May require travel to supplier locations and project offices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budget.
• Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Identify and qualify local and international suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services to meet project milestones.
Contract & Vendor Management
• Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Resolve disputes and manage claims with suppliers and subcontractors.
Cost Control & Budgeting
• Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Track procurement expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking for major purchases.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and international standards.
• Identify procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all procurement activities.
Coordination & Reporting
• Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, logistics, and project management teams.
• Provide regular procurement status reports to senior management.
• Support project planning and scheduling with accurate procurement timelines.
