Job Description

This role is responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and financial reporting from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while protecting the company's commercial interests. The QS will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost control and effective contract administration.
Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
* 3-6 years' experience in a QS role within fit-out or construction
* Experience in commercial, residential, office, or F&B fit-out projects in the UAE is preferred

Technical Skills

* Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, tendering, and post-contract cost control
* Proficiency in Excel and cost management tools (e.g., CCS Candy or equivalent)
* Good understanding of FIDIC and local contract forms
* Ability to analyse cost data and prepare accurate financial reports

Soft Skills

* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and documentation abilities
* Effective communicator and team player
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities Duties:

Cost Planning & Control

* Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender submissions
* Develop and maintain detailed BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing schedules
* Monitor project costs against budgets and report variances with clear analysis
* Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs

Procurement & Subcontract Management

* Prepare and issue subcontract and supplier packages in coordination with procurement
* Evaluate tenders and support negotiations to secure best value
* Assist in drafting and administering subcontract agreements, ensuring scope clarity and commercial alignment

Valuations & Payments

* Prepare interim valuations and payment applications to clients
* Review and certify subcontractor payment applications based on progress achieved
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, work-in-progress, and certified payments

Variations & Change Management

* Identify, assess, and manage variations and claims
* Prepare supporting documentation for variation submissions and commercial entitlements
* Maintain variation logs and ensure timely approvals and tracking

Reporting & Final Accounts

* Prepare monthly commercial reports, including cost/value reconciliation and cash flow updates
* Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors
* Support the commercial team in tracking project profitability and financial performance

Contract Administration

* Support the project team in interpreting and applying contract conditions
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, notices, and timelines
* Provide cost inputs and documentation to support EOT and claims submissions
