Job Description

The Senior Analyst - Application Support is responsible for ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise retail and finance applications across Oracle and SAP S4HANA landscapes. The role provides advanced L2/L3 functional and technical support across supply chain, retail operations, and corporate finance domains, ensuring seamless integration between ERP systems, omnichannel platforms (OMS, POS, WMS, eCommerce), and finance applications. This position works closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, IT vendors, and regional leadership to deliver stable, compliant, and scalable enterprise solutions.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise Application Support within retail or distribution environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting both Oracle (Retail/EBS) and SAP S4HANA systems.
  • Strong understanding of retail supply chain, inventory management, and finance processes.

Technical Skills

  • ERP knowledge across Oracle and SAP S4HANA modules (Finance, MM, SD, Inventory).
  • Integration knowledge (APIs, middleware, EDI, SFTP, message queues).
  • Experience with incident and change management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Basic scripting/automation capability (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Ability to perform SQL queries for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities Duties:

Oracle & SAP S4HANA Application Support

  • Provide end-to-end support for Oracle Retail, Oracle EBS, and SAP S4HANA modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, Procurement).
  • Manage incident lifecycle from detection to closure, ensuring SLA adherence (MTTA, MTTR, resolution targets).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across ERP, retail, and finance systems.
  • Escalate complex defects to L3 or vendors and track resolution to closure.
  • Validate deployments, perform post-release checks, and support change advisory activities.

Retail Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Support procurement, replenishment, warehousing, and store operations across Oracle and SAP landscapes.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, reconciliation processes, and stock integrity across systems.
  • Investigate and resolve stock mismatches between ERP and downstream retail systems.
  • Support business during peak periods, stock takes, and operational rollouts.

Stock Take & Reconciliation Solutions

  • Own and manage stock take processes across Oracle Retail, Xstore, and SAP S4HANA inventory modules.
  • Coordinate physical and cycle counts across stores and warehouses.
  • Investigate stock variances and collaborate with Finance and Operations to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate posting of stock adjustments into ERP and financial systems.

Corporate Finance & Financial Planning Support

  • Support SAP S4HANA Finance and Oracle financial modules including GL, AP, AR, and Financial Reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity during month-end and year-end closing cycles.
  • Partner with Finance teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Assist in audit compliance, financial governance, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Integration & Middleware Support

  • Troubleshoot integration issues across APIs, middleware, message queues, EDI, and SFTP layers.
  • Validate payloads, monitor message flows, and coordinate safe reprocessing of failed transactions.
  • Support end-to-end omnichannel flows between ERP, OMS, POS, WMS, and eCommerce platforms.
  • Ensure data consistency across Oracle and SAP environments.

Monitoring, Observability & Performance

  • Maintain proactive monitoring and alert tuning across ERP and retail systems.
  • Analyze logs and performance metrics to identify recurring issues and capacity risks.
  • Reduce Breach on Arrival (BOA) incidents through improved alert logic and preventive controls.
  • Produce SLA and performance reports for leadership review.

Governance, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release).
  • Maintain audit trails, access controls, and compliance standards across Oracle and SAP platforms.
  • Manage user access, roles, and authorization requests in line with security policies.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks and knowledge base documentation.
  • Automate repetitive support tasks using scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Drive system optimization initiatives to improve stability and business performance.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as primary liaison between Business, Finance, IT, and third-party vendors.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Manage vendor SLAs and coordinate system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
  • Represent Application Support in cross-functional and executive forums.
