Respiratory Care Practitioner
Job Description
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. The role ensures the successful execution of critical respiratory therapeutic protocols, diagnostic testing, and emergency airway support while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and clinical safety.
Required Qualifications
* Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited institutional program.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the NBRC.

Active state-level Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Skills * Excellent clinical assessment and therapeutic adjustment abilities.

Strong communication and empathy when dealing with patients and intensive care families.

Ability to work efficiently under critical pressure and manage flexible, variable shift hours.
Experience Required 1–3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, hospital floor, or intensive care unit environment.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute clinical respiratory care therapies, including oxygen, aerosol, and mechanical ventilation services.

Prepare and calibrate specialized respiratory equipment, arterial blood gas analyzers, and ventilators according to protocols.

Welcome and assess cardiopulmonary patients, tracking baseline vitals and reviewing medical charts.

Serve as a direct clinical responder for respiratory emergencies and code situations.

Coordinate with nursing, physicians, and intensive care teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and therapies.

Monitor ventilator settings and patient reactions, promptly addressing discomfort or changes in vitals.

Ensure proper handling and sterilization of bronchial hygiene systems and respiratory machinery.
