Application Engineer
Job Description
A Dubai based company is looking for an experienced Application Engineer to join their team
• Language: [Required] English, Arabic / [Preferred] Korean
• Bachelor's degree, preferably Computer Science degree, and minimum 3 years prior experience in a Production Support role.
• Experience with Windows and Linux Administration
• Experience with Unix commands and basic scripting (Shell, Python).
• TCP/IP Network troubleshooting and support, including DNS, DHCP & HTTP protocols.
• Taking thread dumps, analyzing them for potential issues
• Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform experience
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies
• Strong knowledge on SQL/NoSQL (writing query, Joins, View, query explain etc) - Execute, debug and test SQL programs
• Knowledge on Grafana, Kibana or any equivalent Monitoring tool (AppD, Splunk)
• Strong knowledge on Tomcat stack (Apache, https, SSL )
• Good working experience with Java, Microservices.
• Familiarity with the Docker/Kubernetes container for microservice implementation
• Knowledge of Git, RPM, Rancher , docker hub
• Previous experience in a customer facing role, including excellent written and oral communications skill
Responsibilities Duties:
• Provide production support, troubleshooting, and maintenance, ensuring seamless operations.
• Resolve issues promptly by following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Handle mission-critical tasks within the production environment.
• Collaborate with L3 engineering teams to address incidents and defects effectively.
• Develop and maintain SQL and script monitors to enhance monitoring capabilities.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects reported by partners and customers.
• Offer application support in both SaaS (Software as a Service) and On-Premise environments.
• Available to work during nights and weekends to ensure continuous support and service availability.
