Job Description
This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust document control processes, ensuring documentation is managed accurately throughout its lifecycle and that records remain secure, compliant and readily accessible.
• 5+ years' experience in Document Control within aerospace, aviation, defence, engineering, EPC or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience administering Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
• Strong understanding of document lifecycle management, version control and records management.
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining controlled documentation.
• Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
• High levels of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
Desirable
• Experience with EDMS platforms such as SharePoint, OpenText, Documentum, M-Files or Aconex.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or ISO 15489.
• Experience supporting large-scale engineering or aerospace programmes.
• Experience improving document management processes and workflows.
Responsibilities Duties:
• Lead the day-to-day management of the organisation's document control function.
• Administer and maintain the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
• Control document creation, review, approval, revision and distribution processes.
• Maintain document registers, records and controlled templates.
• Ensure documentation is accurately classified, version controlled and retained in accordance with company procedures.
• Manage document access permissions and controlled distribution.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and complete records.
• Deliver document control training and promote best practice across the business.
• Work closely with programme, engineering and quality teams to ensure documentation remains accurate, current and compliant.
• Identify opportunities to improve document control processes and system efficiency.
