SAP Cloud Integration Consultant
Job Description
In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise data solutions that span SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BDC, and Databricks — enabling organizations to harmonize SAP-native analytical capabilities with open Lakehouse architectures. You will architect data models, define integration patterns, and guide clients through the modernization of their SAP data warehousing landscapes toward a unified, cloud-native data platform.
You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, SAP functional consultants, enterprise architects, and data engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, production-grade data products. As a trusted technical advisor and client-facing SME, you will shape solution architectures, lead functional design workshops, and accelerate cloud data transformation initiatives across our enterprise client portfolio.
This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to influence data architecture decisions at scale, mentor emerging talent, and contribute to a practice that is redefining how enterprises harness the power of SAP data through BDC and Databricks-powered Lakehouse platforms. If you thrive at the convergence of SAP BW expertise, BDC's unified data fabric, and Databricks' open analytics engine — this is your platform to lead.
Cloud & Integration Platform Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform — Azure, AWS, or GCP — specifically in the context of hosting SAP BDC tenants and Databricks workspaces.
- Experience with cloud-native data integration tools: Azure Data Factory (ADF), AWS Glue, or GCP Dataflow for orchestrating SAP-to-cloud data pipelines into Databricks or BDC.
- Understanding of event-driven and real-time data integration patterns: Apache Kafka, SAP Event Mesh, or Azure Event Hub for near-real-time SAP data streaming into Lakehouse platforms.
- Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and Integration Suite for API-based and event-driven connectivity between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps practices for data platforms: CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks (Databricks Asset Bundles, GitHub Actions), and transport-based lifecycle management for BDC/Datasphere artefacts.
Preferred Qualifications :
- SAP Certified Application Associate — SAP BW/4HANA (current certification strongly preferred).
- SAP Certified Application Associate — SAP Datasphere or SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification.
- SAP Certified Application Associate — SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Prior experience in a Big 4 consulting, global system integrator (GSI), or SAP-focused technology advisory firm with direct client-facing delivery responsibilities.
- Exposure to SAP RISE and cloud ERP migrations, particularly the data migration and analytics workstreams leveraging BDC as the target data platform.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Information Steward or Databricks DLT Expectations for automated data quality profiling, scorecarding, and alerting.
- Familiarity with semantic modelling tools such as dbt (data build tool) for transforming SAP data within Databricks Lakehouse environments.
- Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA greenfield or brownfield implementations with specific responsibility for the analytics and reporting workstream (BW/BDC).
- Knowledge of AI/ML use cases on top of SAP data — including predictive demand forecasting, financial anomaly detection, and supply chain optimization — enabled by Databricks MLflow and SAC Predictive Scenarios.
Certifications (Valued) :
- Certification Issuing Body
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP BW/4HANA SAP SE
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Datasphere / SAP BDC SAP SE
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) SAP SE
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA SAP SE
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA 2.0 (SPS07) SAP SE
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate Databricks
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional Databricks
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) Microsoft
- AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate Amazon Web Services
- Google Professional Data Engineer Google Cloud
Responsibilities Duties:
- Lead the functional design and architecture of SAP BW/4HANA data solutions — including Advanced DSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, Open ODS Views, and LSA++ modelling patterns — aligned to enterprise reporting and analytics requirements.
- Architect and implement SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) solutions: configure BDC tenants, define data products, build data flows within SAP Datasphere, and integrate BDC with SAP BW/4HANA and S/4HANA source systems.
- Design and deliver Databricks Lakehouse architectures: build and manage Bronze-Silver-Gold (Medallion) layers using Delta Lake, orchestrate data pipelines using Databricks Workflows and Delta Live Tables (DLT), and implement Unity Catalog for enterprise data governance.
- Establish and maintain end-to-end data integration pipelines between SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BDC, and Databricks — leveraging ODP (Operational Data Provisioning), SAP SLT, CDS Views, and cloud-native connectors (e.g., SAP Databricks connector, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue).
- Develop and optimize SAP BW/4HANA extraction frameworks: ODP delta/full loads, generic extractors, function-module-based extractors, and LO Cockpit configurations to feed downstream BDC and Databricks environments.
- Build and manage Databricks notebooks and PySpark / Spark SQL transformation logic for large-scale SAP data processing, harmonization, and enrichment within the Lakehouse.
- Design semantic and analytical layers within SAP Datasphere (part of BDC): define Business Entities, Analytic Models, Perspectives, and Consumption Views to serve SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and third-party BI tools.
- Define and implement unified data governance frameworks spanning SAP BDC and Databricks Unity Catalog — covering data lineage, data quality rules, access control policies, and data cataloguing.
- Lead requirements workshops, functional design sessions, and architecture reviews with business stakeholders and enterprise architects; produce functional specification documents, data flow diagrams, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Conduct SAP BW/4HANA migration activities: assess existing BW landscapes, convert legacy InfoCubes, DSOs, and MultiProviders to BW/4HANA-native objects, and define migration roadmaps toward BDC-first architectures.
- Define and oversee data quality frameworks — including SAP Information Steward, Databricks Expectations (DLT), or equivalent tooling — to enforce data contracts across the integrated SAP-Databricks data platform.
- Support SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration: design live connections, import models, and planning models that consume data from BDC, BW/4HANA, and Databricks as unified analytical sources.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers, cloud data engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless delivery of data solutions across the full lifecycle — from extraction and transformation to consumption and governance.
- Support pre-sales activities including solution scoping, effort estimation, RFP/RFI responses, proof-of-concept delivery, and client-facing technical presentations.
- Mentor and develop junior functional consultants and data engineers, sharing expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, BDC architecture, and Databricks Lakehouse best practices.
