Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on a high profile new build residential projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Mechanical Design Engineer working on high profile projects in the Emirates. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered.

Qualifications 

  • BSc Minimum in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience with at least 1 in a recognised PMC or design consultancy company
  • Proven track record of leading the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems with a focus on building systems.
  • Extensive experience with HVAC design, plumbing, fire protection systems,
  • Proficient in BIM software in addition to usual design softwares
  • In-depth knowledge of local design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements
  • Strong communication, stakeholder and client management skills in a client facing role

 

Responsibilities Duties:

  • Lead the design and integration of mechanical systems in buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy management systems.
  • Develop comprehensive mechanical plans and specifications that align with architectural designs and structural constraints.
  • Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency of building systems.
  • Utilize building information modeling (BIM) tools like Revit to create detailed 3D models of mechanical systems within the building structure.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other building components.
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles into mechanical systems, aiming to achieve certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems design, such as potential failures, safety hazards, or non-compliance with regulations.
  • Lead design reviews and value engineering sessions to optimize the design for cost-effectiveness and constructability.
  • Continuously improve design processes and tools to increase efficiency and quality of deliverables.
