Responsibilities Duties:
- Receive and assess patients on admission.
- Obtain and record vital signs, pain score, blood glucose and other relevant observations.
- Perform nursing assessments and identify patient-care needs.
- Monitor patients for changes in physical and mental condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care according to the patient's condition and treatment plan.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy and safety.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living when required.
- Reassess patients after interventions and report significant changes.
- Administer medications according to valid prescriptions and facility policy.
- Verify medication, patient identity, dose, route and timing before administration.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Administer oral, IM, SC, IV and other medications when trained, authorized and within scope.
- Maintain medication records accurately.
- Perform IV therapy and related procedures when appropriately trained and authorized.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and medical procedures.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
