Cloud Engineer
Job Description
A Cloud Engineer designs, builds, deploys, secures, monitors, and maintains cloud infrastructure and services. The role typically involves working with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, along with networking, Linux/Windows systems, databases, containers, automation, security, and DevOps tools.
A Cloud Engineer is responsible for making cloud environments reliable, secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Create and manage virtual machines, networks, storage, databases and other cloud services.
- Configure VPC/VNet, subnets, routing tables, gateways and security groups.
- Implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Scale infrastructure according to application requirements.
- Migrate on-premises workloads to the cloud.
- Maintain development, testing, staging and production environments.

Depending on the employer, manage services such as:
- AWS: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS
- Azure: Virtual Machines, VNet, Storage, Azure SQL, AKS, Entra ID, Monitor
- GCP: Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, IAM, Monitoring
