Job Description
This is the most senior legal role in the organisation, responsible for leading global legal, governance and compliance activity during a period of significant change. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role acts as a trusted adviser to the Board and executive leadership, balancing legal risk with commercial ambition across diverse jurisdictions. A large-scale, international industrial organisation serving tier-one customers across global markets. The business operates a complex, multi-jurisdictional footprint and is entering a transformational phase following a change in ownership and the establishment of a new global headquarters.
* Senior in-house legal leadership experience in a global organisation
* Experience within industrial, manufacturing, mining or asset?heavy sectors
* Proven credibility operating at Board and executive level
* Strong grounding in corporate and commercial law
* Track record managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions
* Commercial, pragmatic and hands-on leadership style
Responsibilities Duties:
* Act as principal legal adviser to the CEO and Board
* Lead global legal, governance and compliance strategy
* Oversee corporate governance, board processes and secretariat matters
* Lead compliance programmes covering anti-corruption, ESG, trade and data privacy
* Provide legal leadership on major commercial contracts and global transactions
* Manage litigation strategy and external counsel relationships
* Build and lead a lean, high-performing global legal function
