Steel Procurement Specialist
Job Description
This opportunity is with our client — a growing steel trading company in the UAE.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: 2 to 5 years in steel procurement or trading within the UAE.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UAE steel supplier landscape and current market pricing dynamics.
- Technical Skills: Full proficiency in data classification and managing accurate vendor/inventory databases.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation power, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
Language & Market Exposure:
- English: Fluent (Mandatory).
- Advantageous: Proficiency in Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, or Kazakh.
- Professional Network: A pre-existing network of suppliers from the UAE, China, CIS, or Indian markets is highly desirable.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and source steel products (MS/GI/CI pipes, coils, and sections) from local UAE suppliers.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize cost-efficiency.
- Market Analysis: Monitor daily price fluctuations and market inventory levels to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain a robust, transparent database of reliable vendors and evaluate their performance regularly.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure stock levels align with customer demand and delivery timelines.
